DELACROIX EUGENE: (1798-1863) French Painter. Regarded as the leader of the French Romantic school, he is also considered one of the last old Masters of painting, and one of the few who was ever photographed. A.L.S., `Eug. Delacroix´, one page, 8vo, n.p., 7th March, n.y., to Monsieur de Mordar-Benoist, in French. Delacroix responds to his correspondent´s invitation and states `Je ne manquerai pas de me rendre , avec beaucoup de reconnaissance, à l´aimable invitation de Monsieur de Mordar-Benoist que je prie d´avance d´agréer mes remerciements et compliments bien empressés´ (Translation: ` I will not fail to accept, with much gratitude, the kind invitation of Monsieur de Mordar-Benoist, whom I beg in advance to accept my sincere thanks and compliments´) Very small overall minor age wear, otherwise G
