[DREYFUS AFFAIR]: LABORI FERNAND: (1860-1917) French attorney who defended the accused in some of the most prominent political cases of his day. Amongst his noted clients were Emile Zola and Alfred Dreyfus, who was eventually acquitted of treason. During the Dreyfus trial Labori was the victim of an assassination attempt. A.L.S., Labori, two pages, 8vo, Strand, London, 10th June n.y., to a gentleman, on the printed stationery of the Hotel Cecil, in French. Labori states that he has been very touched by the honour bestowed on him by the Reform Club in nominating him to be an 'Honorary Member for the term of one month', and asking for his gratitude to be expressed to the members of the committee.
