KRUPP FRIEDRICH ALFRED: (1854-1902) German steel manufacturer whose company gained control of arms and warship manufacturing in Germany in 1896, overseeing the development of U-boats and the diesel engine amongst others. L.S., F A Krupp, one page, 8vo, Essen, 24th July 1884, to N. L. Chrestensen, in German. Krupp makes a request of his correspondent, 'Please be kind enough to send me 1 assortment of II B Bigotphones for 6 Mark, and, at the same time, your invoice'. With blank integral leaf. VG
