BRUNEAU ALFRED: (1857-1934) French composer who played a key role in the introduction of realism in French opera. The personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Bruneau, unsigned, featuring his printed name to the centre and address at Rue Viete, Paris, to the base, bearing several lines of text in his hand, in French, 'Ma femme et moi nous vous remercions vivement tous deux de vous bonnes felicitations et vous envoyer a l'un at l'autre tous nos voeux de bonheur pour 1895' (Translation: 'My wife and I would like to thank you both very much for your kind congratulations and to send you all our best wishes for 1895'). Bruneau was decorated with the Legion of Honour in 1895.
