Gall is widely considered as the founder of phrenology. An oblong 12mo partially printed admittance ticket, in French, to a lecture by Gall on the physiology of the brain, numbered 27 and bearing a small red wax seal and with Gall's intertwined initials printed at the centre, signed ('Gall') in bold black ink at the base.
