GALL FRANZ JOSEPH: (1758-1828) German Neuroanatomist & Physiologist, a pioneer in the study of the localisation of mental functions in the brain. Gall is widely considered as the founder of phrenology. An oblong 12mo partially printed admittance ticket, in French, to a lecture by Gall on the physiology of the brain, numbered 27 and bearing a small red wax seal and with Gall's intertwined initials printed at the centre, signed ('Gall') in bold black ink at the base.
