SABATIER PAUL: (1854-1941) French chemist, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry, 1912. Purple ink signature ('Paul Sabatier') on the upper half of a folio sheet of notepaper bearing ink annotations in the hand of a collector and with the heading 'Autographes de Messieurs les Membres de l'Institut de France'. The collector obviously originally intended to acquire other signatures on the page, with the names of Charles Deperet, Charles Flahault and Wilfrid Kilian appearing in the left margin. Some overall foxing and light staining, only very slightly affecting the signature and with a neat split to the right edge of the central fold. G
