MAUGHAM W. SOMERSET: (1874-1965) English playwright and novelist. T.L.S., W. S. Maugham, one page, oblong 8vo, Villa Mauresque, Cap Ferrat, 12th January 1935, to a gentleman, in French. Maugham states that he will be very happy to see his correspondent, adding that he will be at the villa every morning, and remarking 'Si vous voulez prendre des clichés vous ferez bien peut-etre de choisir un jour de soleil. Heureusement ils ne sont pas trop rares ici' (Translation: 'If you want to take pictures you might want to choose a sunny day. Fortunately they are not too rare here'). VG
