Very rare autograph text in the hand of Goethe, one page, oblong 8vo, n.p., n.d., in German. The text being a poem, a quatrain verse, related to the birthday of Princess Louise, spouse of his patron Grand Duke Charles Augustus. Goethe states `Vorüber führt ein herrliches Geschick - Erhabene Helden, hochverehrte Frauen - Nun fesselt uns des heutigen Tages Glück - Als Bleibende dich unter uns zu schauen.´ (''A glorious fate leads past the noble heroes, the highly esteemed women - Now today's day brings us luck - As if you stay with us.'').
