ROSTAND EDMOND: (1868-1918) French poet and dramatist, remembered for his play Cyrano de Bergerac (1897). A.L.S., Edmond Rostand, to one side of a black bordered correspondence card, n.p., n.d., to a friend, in French. Rostand thanks his correspondent for their cordial letter and continues 'J'ai fait tout de suite ce que vous vouliez. Je ne vous ai pas ecrit plus tot parce que j'ai lu dans un journal que vous etiez absent. Je pense que vous ete de retour' (Translation: 'I did what you wanted right away. I did not write to you earlier because I read in a newspaper that you were absent. I think you are back'). Some very light, extremely minor foxing, otherwise VG
