POULENC FRANCIS: (1899-1963) French composer and pianist. A.L.S., Francis Poulenc, one page, 4to, Noizay, n.d., to a friend, in French. Poulenc writes an apologetic letter, 'Quand je songe que je ne vous ai pas encore remercie pour votre si touchant parrainage je suis rouge de honte. Pardon. Apres 2 mois de tournees je me suis tellement plonge dans le travail que j'ai tout neglige' (Translation: 'When I think that I have not yet thanked you for your so touching sponsorship, I am red with shame. Sorry. After 2 months of touring I got so immersed in work that I neglected everything'). VG
