BRENNAN WALTER: (1894-1974) American actor, Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actor in 1938 for his role as Peter Goodwin in Kentucky and again in 1940 for his role as Judge Roy Bean in The Westerner. An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph, the original 20th Century-Fox publicity portrait depicting Brennan in a half-length pose in costume from his Oscar winning performance as the old, crotchety Peter Goodwin in the drama film Kentucky, set amidst Kentucky horseracing. Signed by Brennan in dark fountain pen ink to a clear area at the head of the image, 'Here's to you Raymond, the best always, Walter Brennan'. Rare in this form.
