JONES ALLAN: (1907-1992) - JONES ALLAN: (1907-1992) American actor and singer, remembered for his roles in the Marx Brothers films A Night at the Opera (1935) and A Day at the Races (1937). A good vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Jones in a head and shoulders pose. Photograph by Clarence Sinclair Bull and bearing his credit stamp to the verso. A printed caption neatly affixed to the verso promotes the appearance of Jones in his screen debut in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film Reckless (1935). Signed by Jones in bold black fountain pen ink to the image, largely across a clear area. An ink annotation in the hand of a collector to the verso indicates that the signature was obtained in person at a Movie Club on 6 th March 1936. VG
