BUÑUEL LUIS: (1900-1983) Spanish Filmmaker. A reference for many Film Directors and the leader in the avant-garde surrealism cinema. Rare A.L.S., `Bunuel´, signed twice, one page, 4to, Paris, 1st of August 1968, to Andre Labarthe, in French. Buñuel responds to his correspondent´s message and states in part `Chers Janine et André, enchanté d´avoir eu de vos nouvelles. Et aussi de vous revoir bientôt. Je ne sors jamais le soir. Si vous pouvez on pourra se rencontrer un jour de la semaine prochaine et déjeuner ensemble…´ ( Translation : `Dear Janine and André, I am delighted to have received news from you. And also, to meet you soon again. I never go out at night. If you can we could meet one day next week and have lunch together…´) Buñuel annotates his phone number, at the Greenwich Film offices, 72 Avenue of the Champs Elysées. Accompanied by the original envelope, signed by Buñuel to the heading, addressed in his hand, postmarked and stamped. G to VG
