FORD JOHN: (1894-1973) American film director, Academy Award winner. A good vintage signed and inscribed 8.5 x 12 photograph of Ford standing outdoors in a three-quarter length pose wearing his uniform as a Rear Admiral of the United States Naval Reserve and holding a pipe in one hand. Photograph by Alexander Kahle and bearing his blindstamp to the lower edge. Signed by Ford in bold blue fountain pen ink to the lower white border, 'To Sasha - with thanks, “who are those chaps?”, “Jack” John Ford'.
