NAPOLEON IV: (1856-1879) - NAPOLEON IV: (1856-1879) Prince Imperial, the only child of Emperor Napoleon III and his Empress consort Eugenie de Montijo. Very rare signed sepia 4 x 6 cabinet photograph, the image depicting the Prince in a formal head and shoulders pose. Signed `Napoleon´ in black ink to the lower white border of the photograph. Also inscribed by Napoleon to the verso, adding the date 22nd October 1877 in his hand. Prince Imperial Napoleon Bonaparte died at the very early age of 23, killed by Zulus during the Zulu War.
