MEYERBEER GIACOMO: (1791-1864) German Composer. A.L.S., Meyerbeer, two pages, 8vo, Paris, 11th January 1826, to Frederic Dupetit-Méré, Direcor of the Odeon Theatre, in French. Meyerbeer thanks his correspondent stating `..for the kindness you have shown for Marguerite d´Anjou and at the same time for meeting a man of letters, whose works have already given me so much pleasure reading..´ With blank address leaf. VG £200-300 Marguerite d´Anjou (1826) A lyric drama by Meyerbeer, based on a French text by Thomas Sauvage (1794-1877). The premiere took place at the Odeon in Paris, 1826.
