MAYNAUD DE LAVAUX ETIENNE: (1751-1828) French General and Governor of Saint Domingue. A.L.S., `Laveaux´, three pages, 4to, Tours, 16th March 1806, in French Laveaux confirms that he owes `to General Desfourneaux a contract of 9700 francs which are due at today´s date..´. Laveaux explains that he cannot afford the payment now and suggests various way to pay `my friend Desfourneaux´. Together with Edme Etienne Borne Desfourneaux (1767-1849) French General under revolution and Empire. Commandant in chief of the West part of Saint Domingue. A.L.S., `Le Gral Desfourneaux´, one page, 4to, Paris, 24th May 1806, to M. Ardant. The letter being an authorization given by Desfourneaux to Ardant, allowing him to receive on his behalf eleven thousand and four hundred francs `that General Lavaux owes me, ..´ with blank integral leaf.
