BEAUHARNAIS JOSEPHINE DE: (1763-1814) Empress of the French 1804-14, the first wife of Napoleon I. L.S., Josephine, one page, folio, Paris, 10th June 1808, to Cardinal Casoni, in French. The Empress sends her greetings to Casoni, stating `My Cousin, nothing could be more pleasant than your new testimonies with good feelings towards me, which you are sending to me on this occasion of the new year; I have no doubt about your sincere words, and I can assure you that my wish is to find the right occasions to forward my kindness..´ The document bears a paper seal affixed to the verso.
