WAGNER JOSEF: (1899-1945) German Gauleiter who served as the Nazi Gauleiter of Gau Silesia 1934-41 until he mas dismissed from the office, expelled from the Nazi Party and imprisoned by the Gestapo on the grounds of being a suspect in the 20 July plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. It is likely that Wagner was executed by the Gestapo towards the end of World War II. Autograph Statement Signed, Josef Wagner, one page, oblong 4to, n.p., n.d. (c.1932), in German. In bold dark fountain pen ink Wagner has penned two lines of text, in full, 'Everything for Germany! Fight is our life's purpose!', signing his name beneath.
