SKORZENY OTTO: (1908-1975) Austrian-born German SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer of World War II, Knight's Cross winner with Oak Leaves. Skorzeny is remembered for his involvement in the Gran Sasso raid which rescued Benito Mussolini from custody in 1943. Signed First Day of Issue cover commemorating Dwight D. Eisenhower and featuring an image of him in uniform, also bearing postage stamps featuring images of Eisenhower and Winston S. Churchill. Post marked at Washington DC, 6th August 1970. Signed by Skorzeny in blue ink with his name alone to a clear area of the cover. About EX
