LONDON JACK: (1876-1916) American novelist, a pioneer of commercial fiction whose works included The Call of the Wild and White Fang, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush. D.S., Jack London, being a signed cheque, Oakland, California, 12th April 1907. The partially printed cheque, completed entirely in London's hand, is drawn on the Central Bank of Oakland and made payable to French Bakeries Co. for the sum of $1.65.
