Mercure de France was a literary magazine first published in the 17th century. Suppressed under Napoleon, and ceasing publication from 1825 to 1890, the gazette was revived in 1890 and later converted into a publishing house linked with the symbolist movement. Since 1995 Mercure de France is part of the Editions Gallimard publishing group.
