AUBER DANIEL: (1782-1871) French composer. Vintage signed sepia carte-de-visite photograph, the albumen print by Leon Cremiere & Co. of Paris depicting Auber seated in a three-quarter length pose. Signed ('Auber') by the composer in dark fountain pen ink with his name alone to the lower photographer's mount, and again signed ('Auber') to the verso, adding the date 2nd December 1867 in his hand. Photographer's imprint to the lower mount and verso. Three stains to the borders of the photographer's mount, only very slightly affecting the image, but not the signature, most likely caused by previous mounting. G
