Crawford writes a series of social letters to her friends, in part, 'How wonderful you were to me while I was in Montreal, and I am so grateful for your many kindnesses to me…..Bless you, and I do hope you will let me know when you are coming to New York. Please send me your home address' (8^th December 1959; also supplying her own home address at 2 East 70^th Street in New York and telephone numbers), 'I adored your letter of September tenth. I'm so sorry you weren't in New York with Julien. I would have so loved to see you again. I am so glad that he likes Cathy and Cindy. They are divine angels…..You are a living doll to write a "by hand" letter. I think you were really fortunate, in a way, to stay at a motel rather than at the Chateau Frontenac. With all the goings-on, and all the parties, you probably got more rest than anyone else. Yes, darling, I do know about all the excitement and preparations for all the luncheons, dinners, cocktail parties, etc. It can be quite a grind…..I am leaving tomorrow morning for Salt Lake City, on a business trip for Pepsi-Cola. I will be back on Friday night, in Los Angeles, as I am going to appear on Bob Hope's first television show of the fall season' (20^th September 1960), 'How wonderful it was to see both of you again. I'm sad we didn't have more time to visit or to see each other under less hectic circumstances, but then, that's what conventions are for; and it was very, very successful, I hope' (11^th December 1962), 'As the Holiday Season approaches, I realize how grateful I am to you for your friendship.
