CUKOR GEORGE: (1899-1983) American film director, Academy Award winner. Signed and inscribed 10 x 8 photograph, the image depicting Cukor standing outdoors in a three-quarter length pose alongside actor Spencer Tracy and director of photography Freddie Young on the set of the British drama film Edward, My Son (1949). Signed by Cukor, in a slightly spidery hand in later years, in black fountain pen ink to a clear area of the background, 'To Pierre from George Cukor, “Edward, My Son”'. Provenance: The present photograph originates from the collection of Pierre Goulliard, a French gentleman who, for over 50 years, dedicated himself to obtaining in person autographs of British, American and European movie stars, always obtaining the signatures in fountain pen ink.
