The King thanks his correspondent for his new year greetings and reciprocates with his best wishes. With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original envelope addressed to “Most reverend in Christ, Father Cardinal Teodolfo Mertel, very dear and very beloved friend of us”, bearing a black wax seal to the verso. Folded.
