KEITEL WILHELM: (1882-1946) German Field Marshal who held office as chief of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW), the high command of Nazi Germany's armed forces, from 1938-45. D.S., Keitel, one page, folio, Berlin, 3rd March 1938, in German. The partially printed document, completed in a neat calligraphic hand, is issued in the name of the Reich and appoints Dr. Otto Delp to be a senior field pharmacist with the expectation that he will be true to his oath and 'will faithfully discharge his official duties and will justify the trust placed in him'. Signed by Keitel at the foot and also bearing a facsimile signature of Adolf Hitler alongside a blind embossed circular seal featuring the Nazi eagle and swastika. With blank integral leaf. Two file holes to the left edge, not affecting the text or signatures. VG
