BOYER-FONFREDE JEAN-BAPTISTE: (1760-1793) French Politician. Deputy of the National Convention, he voted for the death of King Louis XVI and accused Jean-Paul Marat. Boyer-Fonfrède was tried, condemned and guillotined in Paris together with all the leading Girondin deputies. L.S., `J.B.Boyer-Fonfrede´, one page, 4to, Paris, 2nd April 1793, in French. The partially printed document bears the printed heading of the National Convention, with a printed vignette of the National Convention, verbal trials minutes. The document being a decree stating `La Convention Nationale décrète qu´elle autorise son comité de surveillance et de Sureté Générale de faire procéder… à l´intérrogatoire des personnes arrêtées le 1er de ce mois..´ (“The National Convention decree states that it authorizes its Surveillance and General Security Committee to carry out… the interrogation of persons arrested on the 1st of this month..”) Also signed by Jean-Philippe Garran de Coulon (1748-1816) French Politician and Lawyer.
