SIMENON GEORGES: (1903-1989) Belgian Writer. Best known as the creator of the fictional detective Jules Maigret. T.L.S., G Simenon, one page, 4to, Fontenay le Comte, 21st August 1942, to Mr. Leclair, in French. Simenon writes to his correspondent, agent of the Authors Society, stating `I send you back enclosed the two signed contracts, thanking you for this´, further saying `If I have properly understood, M. Sampieri is quite often in France. If this is so, I would be very pleased to get in touch with him as I wish to get some information related to a trip to Italy I have to make shortly´ An early scarce war time letter. VG
