RENOIR PIERRE-AUGUSTE: (1841-1919) French Impressionist Artist. A clean A.L.S., `Renoir´, two pages, written to the first and third page, small 8vo, n.p., 11th November 1899, to a friend, in French. Renoir first comments his intention to escape from Paris to the countryside, and states in part `Cher ami, J´ai reçu ta lettre qui me fait grand plaisir, d´autant que j´ai l´intention de faire ce que tu me conseilles. Il est probable que je vais partir dans peu pour les Pyrénées y gagner un peu de santé et a Dax ensuite..´ (“Dear friend, I have received your letter which gives me great pleasure, even more since I intend to do what you advise me. It is likely that I will leave shortly for the Pyrenees to gain some health there and then to Dax..”) Renoir further refers to his health and to the pressure he lately feels in Paris saying `…à Paris je perds complètement l´appétit, il me faut filer au plus vite…´ “(…in Paris I completely lose my appetite, I have to get out of here as soon as possible..”) Uneven upper and right edge, otherwise VG
