PIUS IX: (1792-1878) Pope of the Catholic Church 1846-78. L.S., as Archbishop of Imola, one page, 4to, Imola, 23rd September 1835, to a financier in Monte Mauro, in Italian. The untranslated letter relates to land obtained by Reverend Matteo Spada from Monsignor Giacomo Braga, which was approved at the time by the Bishop of Imola, and the realisation that the priest is unable to pay the amount due by way of a dowry, and further discussing the subsequent consequences. With integral address leaf bearing minor remnants of a seal, and with a small area of paper loss where originally broken.
