OLIVIER LAURENCE: (1907-1989) English actor, Academy Award winner. Signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph, a good image of Olivier seated in a three-quarter length pose in costume as Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, in a scene from the 1948 British film adaptation of William Shakespeare's play of the same name. Signed by Olivier in black fountain pen ink to a light area of the image. It was for his performance in this film that Olivier won a Best Actor Oscar, and he was also nominated as Best Director. Provenance: The present photograph originates from the collection of Pierre Goulliard, a French gentleman who, for over 50 years, dedicated himself to obtaining in person autographs of British, American and European movie stars, always obtaining the signatures in fountain pen ink.
