MISTRAL FREDERIC: (1830-1914) French Writer. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1904. A.L.S., F. Mistral, to the verso of a postcard photograph, Maiano, 17th February 1914, to Leon Branchet, in Occitan. The front photograph shows the French writer in a half length profile pose, wearing his customary hat. Mistral sends his congratulations to his correspondent for his work and states `My compliments for your collection Les Chansons gallardes, where popular musical themes can be retrieved
