MASSENET JULES: (1842-1912) - MASSENET JULES: (1842-1912) French Composer. A.N.S., Massenet, twice, one page, small 8vo, Paris, 1912, to M. Dupuis, Director of the Verviers Conservatory, in French. The composer sends an urgent paper message by post, stating ´See you on Saturday 13th April at 10h30, 48 rue de Vaugirard, always honoured and charmed with your visits! Massenet´. The 12mo folded post-stamped message is addressed in Massenet´s hand, adding his name again as sender. Written and signed twice in bold black ink. Two file holes and a very small tear to the upper edge corners, and a very small area of paper loss to the left edge not affecting the text or signature. Overall creasing. Also including an original and contemporary printed mourning 4to death notice issued shortly after Massenet´s death on 13th August 1912. With blank integral leaf. G £80-100 48 rue de Vaugirard was Massenet´s home address where he passed away on 13th August 1912.
