BEN-GURION DAVID: (1886-1973) Zionist leader, the primary national founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel 1948-54, 1955-63. A.L.S., D. Ben-Gurion, one page (a feint ruled page removed from a notebook), 8vo, n.p., 28th January 1955, to Teddi, in Hebrew. Ben-Gurion forwards a letter (no longer present) from Armond Cohen and remarks 'If the facts are true, one cannot understand the behaviour of the Rabbis and the offices. We have to clear the situation and I wrote to him that you will take care of it soon…..Find out what he does want!' Two file holes to the right edge, not affecting the text or signature, and with an irregularly torn right edge. About VG

Ben-Gurion's correspondent may have been Teddy Kollek (1911-2007) Israeli politician who was a close ally of Ben-Gurion, serving in his governments from, 1952 as the director general of the Prime Minister's office. Kollek was also a key figure in creating an alliance between the Mossad and the CIA during the 1940s and 1950s. Kollek would later serve as the Mayor of Jerusalem from 1965-93.

Ben-Gurion may also be referring to Rabbi Armond Cohen (1909-2007) the second-longest serving congregational Rabbi in American history who served the Park Synagogue in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1934-2007 and who was a committed Zionist and supporter of Israel.
