GEORGE I OF GREECE: (1845-1913) King of Greece 1863-1913. Assassinated. Rare L.S., `George R´, one page, oblong 15.5 x 11.5, Athens, 22nd July 1906, to Tomas Estrada Palma, president of the Republic of Cuba, in Spanish. The King congratulates his correspondent for his recent appointment, stating in part `C´est avec une satisfaction sincere que Nous avons reçu la lettre par laquelle Votre Excellence a bien voulu Nous announcer qu´Elle a été élue Président de la République de Cuba pendant la période 1906-1910´ (“It is with sincere satisfaction that We received the letter by which Your Excellency has kindly announced Us that he was elected President of the Republic of Cuba during the period 1906-1910”) With countersignature. Small overall age wear with bottom left corner crease. Repaired to the verso to the fold. G
