LAUREL STAN: (1890-1965) English film comedian. T.L.S., Stan Laurel, one page, 4to, Santa Monica, California, 19th December 1960, to James and Irene Heffernan, on the printed stationery of the Oceana apartment hotel. Laurel thanks his correspondents for their cute card and remarks 'it was quite a surprise to see the snapshot of ourselves - can't think when & where this was taken! Anyway, thought it turned out very good.' In concluding he sends good wishes for Christmas from himself and his wife ('Mrs L'). Accompanied by the original envelope. VG
