SZOLDRSKI ANDRZEJ: (1583-1650) Polish nobleman and Roman Catholic Priest. Bishop of Poznan in 1636. He is well remembered as the sponsor of the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Poznan after the fire in 1622, where he is buried. Szoldrski was the son of Stanislaw, owner of Czempin and Piglowice. Rare L.S., `And. Vescovo di Posnania´, (''And.[rzej] Bishop of Poznan''), with two holograph lines, one page, Cygzim, 27th July 1641, to Sertorio Orsato, in Italian. Szoldrski states in part `I bring with me my infinite will to serve continuously to your most illustrious and the obligation that I have to fulfill it… I am in Cigzym my usual residence in Poland where I spent the past week and where I beg you her to give me a sign to be your servant..´ With blank leaf, partially loose. Overall age wear and toning, with very slightly trimmed edges, otherwise G Sertorio Orsato (1617-1678) also known as Orsatti or Ursatus. Italian Historian and Poet. Teacher of philosophy in the University of Padua.
