GALLIENI JOSEPH: (1849-1916) French General, Military Commander and Administrator of French colonies. Minister of War 1915-16. A.L.S., Gallieni, one page, 8vo, Bakel, 14th November 1887, to a Commandant, in French. Gallieni states `The Governor´s proposal regarding Doctor Rascol has been sent to the Ministry. I also enclose herewith a letter dated last June; it might be useful to you´. With blank integral leaf. One very small tear to the edge. VG Bakel is located in Senegal, close to the Mauritania and Mali borders, also known as Fort Bakel for its French fort.
