STELLA ANTONIETTA: (1929- ) Italian Soprano. One of the finest spinto Italian sopranos of the 50´s and 60´s. A very good set of five documents, comprising one A.L.S., and four signed photographs. Vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph, a head and shoulders close-up image of Stella; A.L.S., `Stella´, two pages, 4to, Rome, 25th May 1981, to Renate Bubik, in Italian. Accompanied by the original envelope addressed in Stella´s hand; and three signed and inscribed postcard photographs by Stella, the three Piccagliani photographs depicting the Italian opera singer in costume, in different roles, two in Puccini´s opera Suor Angelica (1918), and one as Teresa in Verdi´s opera La Battaglia di Legnano (1848), all at Teatro Alla Scala of Milano. All are signed in bold blue ink largely to clear areas of the images. VG, 5
