SKALA LILIA: (1896-1994) Austrian-American actress, an Academy Award nominee. A scarce signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Skala in a head and shoulders pose in costume as Mother Maria from the American comedy drama film Lilies of the Field (1963). Signed in bold black ink to a clear area of the image, 'Thank you, Mr Lacy, for liking my work, Lilia Skala', further adding the title of the film and her character name ('Mother Superior') in her hand beneath her signature. It was for her performance in this film that Skala received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. About EX
