OUDINOT NICOLAS: (1767-1847) Marshal of France. Duc de Reggio. L.S., `Le Ml. Duc de Reggio´, one page, folio, Paris, 26th June 1811, to Count of Montesquiou, President of the legislative corps, in French. Oudinot kindly requests to his correspondent the appointment of a Deputy of La Meuse, recommending the grant of the Legion d´Honneur award, and stating in part `..I recommend my compatriot and friend for his virtues, his education and his loyalty to the Emperor I would see with great pleasure that a deputy of my department receive such a honour granted several times in the past by His Majesty to members of this respectable corps..´ With blank integral leaf.
