GILLE HERBERT: (1897-1966) German Nazi SS Commander. Gille was recipient of the Waffen-SS highest decoration, the Knight´s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. Signed 12mo piece `Gille´, the clipped piece, being part of a larger document, bears the typed text beneath the signature `SS-Oberfuhrer und Rgt. Kommandeur''. Signed by Dietrich in bold black ink alongside a Waffen-SS purple ink stamp with the Nazi eagle and swastica. Neatly affixed to the lower white border of an 8 x 10 printed photograph of Gille. G
