LIND JENNY: (1820-1887) Swedish Opera Singer, known as the Swedish Nightingale. A.L.S., Jenny L. Goldschmidt, four pages, 8vo, Moreton Gardens [London], 20th December n.y., to Mr. Lenior. Lind states that she has been informed that her correspondent will stay with his mother for the next two months and hopes that the change will do him good, although adding 'But what is the use of your paying out the heavy sum of 2 guineas to join the Bach Choir for so short a time?' and further remarking 'The election day is tomorrow - you will of course be an elected member from tomorrow if we send in your paper. What is your wish - shall we send it on or do you not rather get a free pass to the rehearsals and come and listen? I must know it to day - so I send a little maid with this scrape - and she will wait for an answer'. VG
