ALFANO FRANCO: (1875-1954) Italian Composer. Best known for having completed Puccini´s last opera Turandot. An early and unusual signed and inscribed 9 x 13 photograph, the Ermini image from Milan depicting Alfano in a half-length formal pose. Signed and inscribed in bold black ink to the matted upper and right border. A good inscription, underlined, stating `Alla Signora Poli - Randaccio, grande ''Vannina'' - Gratissimo, Franco Alfano´, and dated beneath in his hand `Milano, April 1921´. The autograph is inscribed to the Italian soprano Poli Randaccio, Alfano congratulating her for her performance in the premiere of his own opera L´Ombra di Don Giovanni (1914), playing the leading role as Vannina.
