VIEUXTEMPS HENRI: (1820-1881) Belgian Composer and Violinist. A.L.S., `H. Vieuxtemps´, one page, 8vo, n.p., 23rd January 1846, to Baron de Lannay, in French. Vieuxtemps explains to his correspondent his decision to accept performing before leaving and requests his help to divulgate the new of this concert event stating in part `I have finally accepted my friends´ request to perform a session of quartets before my departure. But because there will be no affiches nor announcements, the performance being fully private, I would kindly ask you to announce it to your multiple acquaintances..´ Vieuxtemps also sends to his correspondent some tickets and asks him to try to sell them. With address leaf, addressed in Vieuxtemps´ hand, bearing remnants of a former seal and a small area of paper loss as a result of the letter opening. Overall creasing with small foxing. About G
