CHIANG CHING-KUO: (1910-1988) Taiwanese Politician, leader of the Kuomintang. Succeeded his father, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek, as Premier of the Republic of China 1972-78 and President 1878-88. Signed 3.5 x 6 compliment card, in Chinese characters, by Chiang Ching-Kuo. The card bears a blind embossed sun at the head above the printed text "The President of the Republic of China". Signed in bold black fountain pen ink below the printed text. The card has been neatly matted in black, alongside a 5 x 5.5 photograph of Chiang Ching-Kuo, the image depicting the President in a half length smiling pose wearing his uniform, to an overall size of 12 x 8.
