An extremely rare ink signature ('Herzog von Reichstadt Oberstltn') in German, in his capacity as Duke of Reichstadt (1818-32), on a small oblong 12mo piece, presumably neatly clipped from the conclusion of a letter or document. Neatly laid down to a 4to page removed from a scrapbook beneath an inlaid engraving of the young King of Rome. With a contemporary ink annotation in the hand of a collector, in English, to the upper edge. Autographs of Napoleon II are extremely rare in any form as a result of his untimely death at the age of 21. The four corners of the page are neatly clipped, not affecting the signature. About VG
