Rare L.S., ` Buonaparte ´, a bold good example signature, one page, 4to, n.p., n.d., in French. Napoleon Bonaparte acknowledges receipt of a letter which is addressed to him in his capacity as General of Artillery, referring to Citizen Perrier, Captain of a Horse Artillery Regiment who paid an amount of six hundred pounds to be able to get the command of a “Cannoniers troop”, but who apparently `.. he no doubt ignored that he had been promoted to Chief of Brigade of a Horse Artillery regiment of recent creation, he was informed with a letter addressed to him on 23 rd Germinal to Valence, but which never reached him…´ Signed at the base by Napoleon Bonaparte. The letter has been professionally and lightly affixed to a larger card, allowing the view of the blank verso. Very small hole to the centre, professionally repaired. G to VG
