A good, early original signed pen, ink and coloured pencil self-caricature by Fields, curiously drawn on a page removed from an autograph album and a separate piece of paper at the head, the two neatly joined and laid down together (possibly originally part of a larger page of an album or scrapbook), 5 x 8 overall, n.p., n.d. (c.1910-15). The image depicts the bearded Fields standing in a full length pose looking a little forlorn in a top hat and with a cigar in one hand and a cane in the other. In the immediate background appears another male figure, wearing a red jacket, drawn by Fields. Boldly signed in dark fountain pen ink. Some light age wear, a few minor stains and some ink show-through from a signature to the verso. About G
